What is single origin coffee?
Single origin coffee comes from one specific location – either a single farm, region, or country. Unlike blends, these beans aren’t mixed with others from different areas. This means you get to taste the pure, unique flavours that come from that specific place’s soil, climate, and growing conditions. It’s like getting a taste passport to that coffee’s homeland!
How do you store single origin coffee beans?
Keep your beans in an airtight container away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Don’t store them in the fridge or freezer, as this can affect their flavour. The best place is a cool, dark cupboard. Our bags come with a one-way valve to keep freshness in, but once opened, try to use them within 4-6 weeks for the best taste experience.
What grind size should I choose for my single origin coffee?
The right grind size depends on your brewing method. We offer various grinds: fine for espresso, medium for filter and V60, and coarse for cafetiere. If you’re unsure, try our Interrogation Room quiz on our website, or drop us a message – we’re happy to help!
How fresh are your single origin coffees?
All our single origin coffees are roasted to order in small batches. We stamp each bag with both the roast date and best before date, so you know exactly how fresh your coffee is. We recommend using your beans within 12 weeks of the roast date for optimal flavour.
Can I subscribe to receive single origin coffee regularly?
Absolutely! Our coffee subscription service includes single origin options. You can choose your frequency (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly), grind size, and quantity. Plus, subscribers get special discounts and early access to new single origin releases.
What's the difference between single origin and blended coffee?
Single origin coffee comes from one specific location, offering pure, distinct flavours unique to that region. Our blended coffee combines beans from different origins to create specific flavour profiles. Think of single origin as a solo artist and blends as a carefully crafted band!
Do single origin coffees have more caffeine?
Caffeine content varies depending on the bean type rather than whether it’s single origin or not. Arabica beans typically have less caffeine than Robusta. We provide caffeine content information on each product page.
Do you sell decaf single origin coffee?
Yes, we offer select decaf options in our single origin range. These undergo a chemical-free Swiss Water Process to remove caffeine while maintaining the bean’s natural flavours and characteristics.
Do you offer wholesale single origin coffee?
Yes! We offer wholesale options for businesses. Our single origin coffees are available in 1kg bags with competitive pricing for bulk orders. Contact our wholesale team for more information and pricing.
Can I track my order?
Yes! Once your order is dispatched, you’ll receive an email with tracking information. You can click the link in the email to follow your coffee’s journey right to your door. If you haven’t received tracking information within 24 hours of ordering, please contact us.
